No business can afford to experience internal or customer-facing disruptions, least of all an industry leader like Maritz. To prevent these types of problems and to set themself up well for the future, the company recently modernized and migrated their E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Maritz was growing, but as they got bigger their hardware got older. As ERP functions increased, the more their existing IT struggled to keep up. Processes got more complex, maintenance more difficult, and disaster recovery was…nearly a disaster. For a company focused on innovation, it was time to reinvent themselves.
Ron Hunsaker, Vice President of the Enterprise Application Services team at Maritz, made the decision to move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to alleviate their current and pending challenges and selected Keste to help them migrate their infrastructure.
Aging Hardware On-premises applications supported critical backoffice operations, but were running on aging Sun Microsystems hardware that struggled to keep up.
Overly Complicated Infrastructure Executing failovers for disaster recovery (DR) was overly cumbersome, often taking 72 hours to complete.
Skillset Shortage Key personnel with the expertise to maintain the database and Solaris OS that supported the legacy environment had announced their retirement.
On Prem Equipment With on-prem hardware, it was often difficult to do proper capacity planning for large projects or peak seasons, which led to limited ability to control infrastructure costs.
Since migrating workloads to the cloud, Maritz has seen a 10X improvement in EBS performance.
The company has been able to reduce their Disaster Recovery window from 72 hours to 4 hours.
Concurrent financial processes that used to take 2 hours are now completed in 10 minutes.
Significantly reduced infrastructure costs.
Within a nine-month period, Keste and Maritz migrated sandbox, dev/test, production and disaster recovery environments for E-Business Suite and an additional 26+ applications running on an Oracle back end to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
“I can’t say enough about how smoothly the migration went.” said Hunsaker about the transition. “We have a warehouse that we fulfill out of that depended on everything operating smoothly, and we were able to do it over a weekend without impacting operations. I don’t think we would have been able to make this happen in nine months without Keste and Oracle.”
“Keste has always delivered excellent solutions. Whether partnering on a project where they provide strategic roadmap guidance and project delivery, or implementations where they provide development expertise, Keste has provided a solid foundation for Arbonne’s technology future.”
